Anna Palfreeman
December 12, 2023. The day our lives changed. My sweetest 4 year old son was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. A childhood cancer diagnosis is a cataclysmic reorientation. A forever change. In some ways, I grieve that change and in some ways I’m deeply thankful for it.
The first five chemotherapy phases for leukemia are collectively called Frontline. They are the most intense and hardest on the body. My newest album is a compilation of the songs that I wrote during that period. There was very little music that I could listen to after my son was diagnosed. Most songs didn’t feel like they could touch the depth of what I was walking through. My hope in releasing this album is that these songs could be something to listen to when your world is turned upside down.
